Sauti Health runs a pre-hospital emergency dispatch platform for low-resource settings: USSD on basic 2G phones, offline-capable responder apps, mobile-money payments, and an analytics layer that tunes dispatch with reinforcement learning. It turns existing community infrastructure — health workers and motorcycle riders — into a fast, affordable response network.

I partner with the Sauti Health team as a developer across backend services, dispatch and payment integrations, offline-first patterns, and platform observability — making the system run reliably across patchy networks and constrained devices.

About Me
— who I am
I am Mpairwe Lauben, a DevSecOps engineer and applied ML practitioner based in Kampala, Uganda, and co-founder of IONATECH (ionatec.com) — a startup shipping production AI for East African operators.
I also work as a developer in partnership with Sauti Health (sautihealth.com) on the engineering behind their pre-hospital emergency dispatch platform — USSD-first, offline-capable, and built for the realities of low-resource settings across sub-Saharan Africa.
By day I run CI/CD, cloud, and security posture at AIBOS Uganda. Outside that I train models, build agentic systems with LangChain and LangGraph, and instrument MCP servers that expose tools to LLMs. I'm equally comfortable hardening a Kubernetes cluster, evaluating a RAG pipeline, or shipping a Flutter release.
I collaborate well, document thoroughly, and take security posture seriously. I mentor junior engineers, write in public about what I learn, and contribute upstream when the work warrants it.
